Here's How it all Started...For Me Anyway
For most of my adult life I have prided myself on being a "hard worker". If I needed something, I'd work hard to earn it. If I wanted something I'd work hard to get it. But no matter how hard I worked I only ever got half of what I needed and none of what I wanted. Plus I was always tired and frustrated. As I lived a little, I saw how the most successful people were happy, and the happiest people where unbothered. They were unbothered because they were free of the burden of working hard. Instead they made a conscious choice to just live. This began my journey. This is how I know Leaders Are Built. Leadership of others and most importantly (leading your) self is a choice we make everyday. We lead in love when we incorporate Emotional Intelligence, Unbiased Interactions, Fairness, and Transparency. But None of it matters if we don't take care of ourselves first. All these things are among the hundreds of decisions that build us as leaders. As for me, I've decided to take care of myself First. And I hope you do too!
